Why are vaccinations important?

Dr Kumar explained that vaccination is the most effective way to help our body protect itself. Three key benefits as follows:
 
1. Prevent unpleasant effects related to infectious diseases (e.g. Chickenpox, Flu, Measles, Mumps and Rubella).
 
2. Prevent serious complications with certain infections when travelling abroad (e.g. Meningococcal meningitis, Rabies and Yellow fever).
 
3. Prevent long term consequences related to certain infectious diseases (e.g. liver cancer is caused by chronic Hepatitis B infection, cervical cancer in women is caused by HPV or Human Papilloma Viruses).
